Planning Board members are appointed by the Village Board of Trustees, and are responsible for the formulation of Village policies regarding land use, zoning and development. Members serve five (5) year terms. A chair is appointed from the members for a one (1) year term. The Planning Board meets on the second Tuesday of every month at Municipal Hall at 7:30pm.
The Planning Board also acts in an advisory capacity to the Village Board of Trustees regarding various planning and development studies.
Agendas are prepared two Fridays preceding the regular meeting. As with all boards and committees, the Planning Board does hold special meetings and work sessions from time to time. These meetings are noticed in advance. Planning Board applications must be received in full by the Assistant Village Manager on the required submission date. For a complete list of all Planning Board meetings please click the Meeting Schedule link above.
The Village retains Buckhurst Fish & Jacquemart, Inc, of New York, New York, to serve as its planning consultants. A planner from the firm attends each of the Board's meetings and provides the Board with comments on each application.
